Vishwa Kumar is an avid Tantra Yoga practitioner. He is a certified & registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. Vishwa is dedicated to disseminating the practice and wisdom of yoga. He was born and raised in India, later moved to the United States, and currently lives in Marietta, GA. Vishwa began his journey with yoga as a teenager seeking answers. He found his first answers in Swami Vivekananda’s books on the philosophy of Yoga and Vedanta. Vishwa’s father then introduced him to the physical practice of sun salutation. Through daily asana practice and further academic study of yoga, he won the high school yoga competition at the district level.
After reading about the blissful state of Samadhi which Vivekananda wrote about, Vishwa deeply desired to experience it for himself. Vishwa began to meditate sporadically, occasionally on the image of the Divine Mother Durga, and experienced unexplainable bliss. Later, in 2002, he was formally initiated into an effortless meditation technique. Since then, he has maintained a daily meditation practice. Vishwa continued to study and practice the tantric techniques of yoga, using asana, pranayama, bandha, mudra, kriya, and meditation as taught by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, founder of the Bihar School of Yoga, and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation. It was at this point that Vishwa began formally yet infrequently teaching private students and in group settings. Challenges arose in Vishwa’s personal life which threatened his health. While he tried modern medicine for over a year, this did not help. Later, a Swami of Sivananda’s ashram showed him the way into deeper practices of yoga. These yoga practices helped him to heal and recover naturally in just over a month. This was the turning point that made him decide to dedicate himself to sharing his studies and practices and began teaching regularly. Vishwa enjoys studying scripture and modern books on philosophy. He also deepens his studies in person with senior teachers. He has attended over 2500 hours of courses and workshops from respected teachers of the Sivananda, Krishnamacharya, and Himalayan Lineages. Also, he is a Certified Tantra Practitioner, Reiki Master, and Pranic Healer. He has taught classes/workshops in India, Europe, Africa, the United States, and Latin America. Vishwa's classes & workshops are inspired by his own life experiences. He is passionate about sharing the tantric yoga tradition and lifestyle with his students. He believes in strengthening the connection between mind, body, and higher Self. He uses the skills of Hatha yoga, Laya yoga, Mantra, Tantra, and Meditation to conduct inviting and purposeful classes, with a balanced approach that fosters an invigorating, centering, grounding, and healing environment.
In his free time, Vishwa enjoys Latin dancing, traveling, and outdoor activities.
