Hatha Yoga - Sun Practice
In Hatha Yoga tradition, a Sun or Solar sequence refers to the approach that emphasizes the connection to prana or life force. You will also learn the relationship between Prana (life force) and Nadi
(energy channels). Using the method of Prana Yoga, you will activate
the solar force by connecting to Prana Shakti and cultivate more energy
and strength using Asana, Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra, and Meditation. It
increases your vitality, enthusiasm, power, expansiveness and subtle
awareness.
Solar energy leads to shining, both internally and externally and is the foundation for the final and most powerful stage of practice. The focus of the practice will be the heart, middle & upper back, shoulders, and heart chakra. This practice will give you energy and will help control weight and depression.
“This prana and that sun are the same. When the sun rises he destroys darkness and fear.” - Chandogya Upanishad
You will be also using Bandha in this practice. Bandha is the doorway into the energetics of practice. The perfection of bandha increases our sensitivity and relationship to prana (life force). It also builds creative power, awakens self-knowledge and accelerates the process of transformation. Let's take your practice, wherever it currently is, to the next level.
